Ryan Kwanten’s busy summer schedule

According to slashfilm, “Knights of Badassdom,” is about a group of Live Action Role Players (LARPers). Dressed like knights, elves & various characters, they give up their cell phones and take to the woods for the Central New Jersey Knights of Badassdom Adventure Society, where they are set to re-enact a D&D (Dungeons & Dragons for the non-geek set) scenario right out of the mythical Middle Ages. When the group’s wizard casts an all too real spell from a book he got from eBay, he unleashes a terrible evil onto the world. Thus, it’s up to the Knights of Badassdom to save Jersey…and the world! Directed by Joe Lynch. Also starring my man Davis, I mean Steve Zahn (currently in HBO’s Treme). Ryan Kwanten was quoted:

“It’s sort of a comedy… like ‘Shaun of the Dead’ meets ‘Role Models,’” Ryan explained. “It’s that real black comedy that I really love.”

After that, Ryan will finish up the summer in New Jersey, shooting a darker project called “Truck Stop.”I couldn’t find much info on that, but Ryan says:

“It’s a very much sort of a heavy, dramatic type piece,” he said of the project. I play a pimp, believe it or not,” Ryan added. “He’s not the nicest of characters, so I’ve got to summon the evil inside me.”

Ryan Kwanten nominated for Australian Film Institute (AFI) award for his role in True Blood

It has just been announced that True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten has been nominated for an Australian Film Institute (AFI) Award in the category of International Award for Best Actor.

Ryan Kwanten to be in film “Zebras”

True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten is to be in the film “Zebras,” which is now in pre-production.

The story, written by David Williamson, who also wrote the screenplay for “Gallipoli”, is based on the true-life tale of a music producer who discovers talented young soccer players in the ghettos of Soweto, South Africa, and forms them into a successful team dubbed the Zebras, because it brings together black and white players.

The film is to be directed by Bruce Beresford who also directed the film, “Driving Miss Daisy”

Ryan Kwanten: AMAs 2010 Red Carpet!

Ryan Kwanten hits the red carpet in head to toe HUGO as he arrives at the 2010 American Music Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (November 21) in Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old Aussie actor suited up for the second time that week - on Wednesday, he dropped by the GQ Men of the Year party held at Chateau Marmont!
