How about some info on Friday Night Lights, any little bit would be welcome. Cannot wait for the new season to start!
Romance-wise, I'm hearing the following: Matt and Julie, cavorting in a lake, at twilight. I don't care what anyone says, as far as I'm concerned, there's no way that's not ending in nooky. Also, I'm hearing that Landry's (Jesse Plemons) gonna be makin' time with a cute girl bassist named Devin Corrigan, but it has more to do with Crucifictorius (his rockin' band!) than with any romantic canoodling, as she's only a ninth grader.

HIER gibt es recht viel Spoiler. Dieser Satz hat mich allerdings irritiert:

Das klingt, als würde vorausgesetzt, dass die nächste Staffel nicht mehr so gut wird. Wieso sollte das so sein?

Exclusive: 'Friday Night Lights' Cuts Two Players

I've been dreading this day. Ever since Friday Night Lights' odds-defying renewal (thanks, DirecTV!), pessimistic fans like myself have been waiting for the other cleat to drop. And now we can stop waiting. Sources confirm to me exclusively that two of the show's MVPs, Gaius Charles (Smash) and Scott Porter (Jason), have been taken off contract and will only appear on a recurring basis in Season 3.

In a just-released statement, exec producer Jason Katims says, "Pete Berg, myself and our fellow producers have enormous respect for Scott and Gaius both as actors and individuals. In short, we love them. However, both of their characters have now graduated and in the creative spirit of the show, we have decided to give them powerful four episode arcs that will observe their characters as they launch themselves into the next phase of their lives. We certainly will keep the door open for both actors to return in the future, depending on the actors' availabilities. We know both Scott and Gaius will go on to have enormous success and we wish the best for both of them."

Total bummer, I know, but not a complete surprise. In the case of Smash, Katims conceded that finding a way to justify hanging onto his college-bound running back would be difficult. “The Smash story definitely creates a challenge for us,” he told me back in May. “He will presumably have graduated [when we return in the fall]. It's definitely going to require some finessing and the right balance between taking the right amount of poetic license, but not doing anything that would question the authenticity and believability that is so important to our show.”

Similarly, maintaining the viability of Jason – the Panthers' ex-starting quarterback who was left paralyzed by a Season 1 injury – has also presented challenges. One possible exit strategy has Jason leaving Dillon to start a new life with his pregnant girlfriend.

One thing you can be sure of: Katims remains committed to bringing both characters' storylines to a satisfying conclusion. As one insider assures, "He has too much respect for the fans — as well as both actors — to leave them hanging like that."

Matt wird übrigens definitv nicht wieder dabei sein, das wurde schon bestätigt.. Es liegen 8 Monate zwischen der 2. und 3. Staffel und in 3x01 sind Tim und Lyla bereits ein Paar und Tyra und Landry schon längst wieder getrennt.

Hier mal weitere Spoiler:

* If you're having a tough time coping with the impending loss of Gaius Charles' Smash and Scott Porter's Jason, wait until next year: Katims reveals that Tim, Matt, Tyra and Lyla are all entering their senior years this season. The knowledge that this may be their final year in Dillon will "add an urgency to [their] stories, but also a nostalgia."

* When the new season starts, eight months will have passed since the Season 2 finale, placing the action at the start of a new school year. Among the major developments: Tim and Lyla are now in a serious relationship. "We think it'll be a tremendously fun storyline, which could ultimately become very moving," Katims says. "It's one thing to have this passionate, secret relationship, but once they're in a real relationship, they see how different they are. They're completely an odd couple... Also, they're both seniors now, so it's really a question of, Where are they going now? Where are they headed? Lyla really tries to get Tim to be the best version of himself. (She wants him to) get into college, get a scholarship... But the question is whether these two are destined to have very different lives."

* The hiatus has not been nearly as kind to another Dillon super-couple: Tyra and Landry. "Tyra in the past eight months has [realized] that, while she loves Landry, she kind of feels like he's not really The Guy," says Katims. "So it becomes a story about, Are they going to be able to be friends? And will Landry be able to accept that?" Probably not when he meets the new Guy in her life, but more on that below.

* Matt and Julie will try and put the past behind them and become friends.

* As previously reported, Tami will be appointed the principal of Dillon High. "From the beginning, we wanted to find ways to get (Connie Britton) driving story as much as possible, and not just be the coach's wife," says Katims, adding that the new gig will lead to some serious tension at home. "Suddenly she (and Coach Taylor) may find (themselves) on opposite sides of some issues."

* Katims concedes that it was not easy placing the calls to Charles and Porter informing them that they're runs on the show were coming to an end. "It was very hard to break the news to them," he admits. Smash and Jason, however, will be going out with "two of the most powerful storylines" this season. "We are not doing this in any unceremonious way. And, also, we want to very much leave the door open for both of them to come back to the show."

* A handful of new characters will be introduced, including a freshman named J.D. McCoy. "He's a phenomenal quarterback," Katims explains. "In the first arc of the season, there's a controversy over who will be the first-string quarterback for the Panthers." Additionally, an old friend of Billy Riggins named Cash will make a play for Tyra. "He's a local rodeo star, so he's right in Tyra's wheelhouse. So Landry is not going to be (happy)."

* Matt Czuchry (Chris) and Benny Ciaramello (Santiago) will not be back.

* A renewed focus will be placed on the Landry/Matt friendship, a relationship Katims says got sidelined last season in the wake of the Landry/Tyra murder plot. "With that intense, secret thing between Landry and Tyra, we lost a little bit of Landry as Matt's buddy/sidekick/friend, and we're going to have that back."

Ich fand die Folge auch sehr schön, der Cast ist etwas reduziert aber die Personen fehlen mir nicht wirklich.

So richtig viel reduzierter kommt mir der Cast eigentlich gar nicht vor, zumal Smash in den bisherigen Folgen jedesmal recht viel Screentime hatte, wohingegen sich der Focus bei den Hauptrollen ja meist abwechselt. Er hat wahrscheinlich jetzt zu Anfang tatsächlich mehr Screentime, damit seine Geschichte zuende geführt werden kann.
Mir fällt dabei allerdings auf, dass ich ihn dann doch vermissen werden, und vor allen Dingen auch seine Mom

Wurde erwähnt, wo Jason hin ist? Er ist ja in manchen Dialogen der anderen noch präsent, aber mir ist nicht in Erinnerung, wo er sich grad aufhält.

Was war das denn für ein Guidance Counsellor, der hat wohl auch ein wenig den Job verfehlt.

Was mir bisher noch fehlt, ist ein bißchen Hintergrund zu Tyras und Landrys Trennung. Die Beziehung der beiden wirkt jetzt genauso klischeebehaftet wie zu dem Zeitpunkt, bevor sie jemals zusammengekommen sind: Sie die sexy Hexy und er der Geek der Schule?! Er war doch auch im Footballteam, davon ist auch keine Rede mehr?!

Gesagt wurde bisher nichts, aber auf Jason gehen sie später noch ein. Zuerst wollten sie die Smash-Story abhandeln und später dann auf Jason eingehen, so dass jeder genug Screentime bekommt.

Auf Tyra und Landry wird auch in der Folge, die diese Woche ausgestrahlt wird, eingegangen. Das konnte man ganz gut im Trailer sehen.
Das mit Landry und dem Footballteam ist mir noch nicht mal aufgefallen. Für mich war er da schon immer fehl am Platz.

In der Folge von letzter Woche fand ich die Abschlussmontage besonders schön gemacht. Die Musik und die Szenen dazu waren einfach perfekt.

Die letzten 3 Folgen waren durch die Bank Spitze! Die Serie enttäuscht einen einfach nicht

Zu den besten Szenen aus den 3 Folgen gehören definitiv:
- das Gespräch zwischen Tami und Julie, nachdem Eric Julie und Matt im Bett erwischt hat'
- Tim, der sich Lyla bedankt, als er seine Zusagen fürs College bekommen hat
- als Eric Matt auf der Straße mit einigen Würfen testet, ob er die neue Position im Team spielen kann
- Eric, der Tamis Geburtstag plant
- Eric, wie er versucht, JD zu beruhigen, nachdem dessen Vater sich zum Dan Scott entwickelt hat

Was ich nur schade fand, ist, dass Cash so sehr niedergemacht wurde. Ich hoffe, dass das auf lange Sicht den Grund hatte, dass Landry und Tyra doch nochmal zusammen finden.

Im Januar kommen zu dieser Staffel nur noch 2 Folgen?! Hoffentlich ist die Serie dann nicht komplett zuende!


Taylor Kitsch ist PLatz 29 in den USATODAY Top 100 People of 2008

29. Taylor Kitsch. As Tim Riggins, Friday Night Lights' beautiful and rebellious fullback, the actor never fails to make me laugh or sigh. I just hope the show lasts long enough so we find out whether he turns out OK.

Die Chancen, dass FNL doch noch eine 4. Staffel bekommt, sind anscheinend gestiegen. DirecTV wäre daran interessiert die Kollaboration mit NBC zu verlängern.

Würde mich zwar riesig freuen, aber ich frag mich, ob dann außer den Taylors noch jemand dabei wäre. Matt und seine Großmutter könnten noch dabei sein und auch die McCoys, aber die anderen sind auf dem College, und wenn sie das Prinzip beibehalten, dass sie nur Dillon zeigen, dann wären Tyra, Landry, Lyla und Tim eigentlich raus.
Ohne Taylor Kitsch wäre schon schade

In einem Interview hat Taylor letztens gesagt, dass er auch in einer 4. Staffel dabei wäre (glaube ich zumindest). Ich schau mal nach, ob ich das finde und poste es dann. Tim und Tyra würden mir nämlich auch ziemlich fehlen und ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die Serie ohne sie weitergeht. Die Drehbuchautoren müssten sich da schon was Gutes einfallen lassen.
