Weißes Papier - Element of Crime (auf "Weißes Papier")
"Nicht mal das Meer darf ich wiedersehn,
Wo der Winde deine Haare vermißt,
Wo jede Welle ein Seufzer
Und jedes Sandkorn ein Blick von dir ist"

If You See Her Say Hello - Bob Dylan (auf "Blood On The Tracks")
"If you get close to her, kiss her once for me
I always have respected her for busting out and gettin' free
Oh, whatever makes her happy, I won't stand in the way
Though the bitter taste still lingers on from the night I tried to make her stay"

A New England - Billy Bragg (auf "Life's A Riot")
"I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them but they were only satellites
Is it wrong to wish on space hardware
I wish, I wish, I wish youd care"

For No One - The Beatles (auf "Revolver")
"And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind the tears
Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years"

Nevermore - Queen (auf "Queen II")
("You sent me to the path of nevermore
When you say you didn't love me anymore")

Hm, hat wohl keiner Lust, mitzumachen, was...? :(

SPANISH TRAIN
von Chris De Burgh (auf "Spanish Train & Other Stories")
"And far away in some recess
The Lord and the Devil are now playing chess,
The Devil still cheats and wins more souls,
And as for the Lord, well, he's just doing his best..."

GOD'S COMIC
von Elvis Costello (auf "Spike")
"So there he was on a water-bed
Drinking a cola of a mystery brand
Reading an airport novelette, listening to Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Requiem
He said, before it had really begun, "I prefer the one about my son"
'I've been wading through all this unbelievable
junk and wondering if I should have given
the world to the monkeys' "

GOD'S SONG (THAT'S WHY I LOVE MANKIND)
von Randy Newman (auf "Sail Away")
"You all must be crazy to put your faith in me
That's why I love mankind
You really need me
That's why I love mankind"

SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL
von den Rolling Stones (auf "Beggars Banquet")
"I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain"

THE DEVIL WENT DOWN TO GEORGIA
von der Charlie Daniels Band
"The devil went down to Georgia
He was lookin' for a soul to steal
He was in a bind
'Cause he was way behind
And he was willin' to make a deal"

Jackson Browne - Late for the Sky (Late for the Sky)
Spoiler
Looking hard into your eyes
There was nobody I'd ever known
Such an empty surprise, to feel so alone

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch
You never knew what I loved in you
I don't know what you loved in me
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be
Bob Dylan - Idiot Wind (Blood on the Tracks)
Spoiler
It was gravity which pulled us down and destiny which broke us apart
You tamed the lion in my cage but it just wasn't enough to change my heart
Now everything's a little upside down, as a matter of fact the wheels have stopped,
What's good is bad, what's bad is good, you'll find out when you reach the top
You're on the bottom
Sinead O'Connor - Nothing compares 2 U (I do not want what I haven't got)
Spoiler
It's been seven hours and fifteen days
Since you took your love away
I go out every night and sleep all day
Since you took your love away
Since you been gone I can do whatever I want
I can see whomever I choose
I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant
But nothing, I said nothing can take away these blues
Cause nothing compares
Nothing compares 2 U
Joni Mitchell - River (Blue)
Spoiler
He tried hard to help me
You know, he put me at ease
And he loved me so naughty
Made me weak in the knees
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on

I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and Im sad
Now I've gone and lost the best baby
That I ever had
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
Bob Dylan - Don't Think Twice, It's All Right (The Freewheelin')
Spoiler
It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
That light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right
[...]
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
[...]
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right
Led Zeppelin - Since I've been loving you (III)
Spoiler
Said I've been crying, yeah, oh my tears they fell like rain
Don't you hear them, don't you hear them falling
Don't you hear them, don't you hear them falling

Do you remember mama, when I knocked upon your door?
I said you had the nerve to tell me you didn't want me no more, yeah
I open my front door, I hear my back door slam
You know I must have one of them new fangled, new fangled back doors man
Bonnie Raitt - I can't make you love me (Luck of the Draw)
Spoiler
I'll close my eyes, then I won't see
The love you don't feel, when you're holding me
Morning will come, and I'll do what's right
Just give me till then, to give up this fight
And I will give up this fight

Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Pearl Jam - Black (Ten)
Spoiler
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine?
Jeff Buckley - Lover, you should've come over (Grace)
Spoiler
Its never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
Its never over, all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her
Its never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
Its never over, shes the tear that hangs inside my soul forever
Well maybe Im just too young, to keep good love from going wrong
[...]
I feel too young to hold on
And I'm much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb and blind to see the damage I've done
Sweet lover, you should've come over
Led Zeppelin - That's the way (III)
Spoiler
I don't know how I'm gonna tell you, I can't play with you no more
I don't know how I'm gonna do what mama told me, My friend, the boy next door
I can't believe what people saying, You're gonna let your hair hang down
I'm satisfied to sit here working all day long, You're in the darker side of town

And when I'm out I see you walking, Why don't your eyes see me?
[...]
And yesterday I saw you standing by the river
And weren't those tears that filled your eyes?
And all the fish that lay in dirty water dying,
Had they got you hypnotized?

And yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers,
But all that lives is born to die.
And so I say to you that nothing really matters,
And all you do is stand and cry
Rolling Stones - Love in Vain (Let it bleed)
Spoiler
When the train left the station
It had two lights on behind
Yeah, when the train left the station
It had two lights on behind
Whoa, the blue light was my baby
And the red light was my mind

All my love was in vain
Jeff Buckley - Forget Her (Grace Legacy Edition)
Spoiler
While the city's busy sleeping
All your troubles lie awake
I walk the streets to stop my weeping
But she'll never change her ways

Don't fool yourself
She was heartache from the moment that you met her
My heart feels so still
As Ii try to find the will to forget her somehow
Oh I think I've forgotten her now
[...]
Oh my tears fall down as I tried to forget
The love was a joke from the day that we met
All of the words, all of her men
All of my pain when I think back to when
Remember her hair as it shone in the sun
It was there on the bed when i knew what she'd done
Tell yourself over and over you wont ever need her again
Blues Traveler - Pretty Angry (Bridge)
Spoiler
And I guess I'm still pretty angry
And I don't want to be
I don't know which was the bigger waste of time
Missing you or wishing, instead, it was me
B.B. King - The Thrill is Gone (Completely Well)
Spoiler
The thrill is gone
It's gone away for good
Oh, the thrill is gone baby
Baby its gone away for good
Someday I know I'll be over it all baby
Just like I know a man should
Joy Division - Love will tear us apart (Substance)
Spoiler
When the routine bites hard
And ambitions are low
And the resentment rides high
But emotions wont grow
And were changing our ways,
Taking different roads
Then love, love will tear us apart again
Bob Dylan - It's all over now, Baby Blue (Bringing it all back home)
Spoiler
Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start anew
And it's all over now, Baby Blue
Bob Dylan - Positively 4th Street (Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits)
Spoiler
You say I let you down
You know it's not like that
If you're so hurt
Why then don't you show it

You say you lost your faith
But that's not where it's at
You had no faith to lose
And you know it
[...]
Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is
To see you
Bob Dylan - Most of the Time (Oh Mercy)
Spoiler
Most of the time
My head is on straight
Most of the time
I'm strong enough not to hate
I don't build up illusion 'till it makes me sick
I ain't afraid of confusion no matter how thick
I can smile in the face of mankind
Don't even remember what her lips felt like on mine
Most of the time

Most of the time
She ain't even in my mind
I wouldn't know her if I saw her
She's that far behind
Most of the time
I can't even be sure
If she was ever with me
Or if I was with her

I just believe in me
Yoko and me
Daniel Lanois - The Maker (Acadie)

I could not feel for the fear in my life
From across the great divide
In the distance I saw a light
Jean baptiste, walking to me with the maker
Iron & Wine - The Trapeze Swinger (In Good Company Soundtrack)
BTW, der MIT ABSTAND beste Song des Jahres 2005.
Spoiler
So please remember me, finally
And all my uphill clawing, my dear
But if I make
The Pearly Gates
I'll do my best to make a drawing of God
And Lucifer
A boy and girl
An angel kissin' on a sinner
A monkey and a man
A marching band
All around the frightened trapeze-swinger

3 doors down - here without you

Textauszug:
Spoiler
Mirrors on the ceiling
Pink champagne on ice
And she said
We are all just prisoners here
Of our own device
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember
I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
Relax said the nightman
We are programed to recieve
You can check out any time you like
But you can never leave
HOME BY THE SEA von Genesis
Textauszug:
Spoiler
Coming out the woodwork, thru the open door
Pushing from above and below
Shadows but no substance, in the shape of men
Round and down and sideways they go
Adrift without direction, eyes that hold despair
Then as one they sign and they moan

Help us someone, let us out of here
Living here so long undisturbed
Dreaming of the time we were free
So many years ago
Before the time when we first heard
Welcome to the home by the sea
HOUSE WHERE NOBODY LIVES von Tom Waits
Textauszug:
Spoiler
There’s a house on my block
That’s abandoned and cold
Folks moved out of it a
Long time ago
And they took all their things
And they never came back
Looks like it’s haunted
With the windows all cracked
And everyone call it
The house, the house where
Nobody lives

The Dresden Dolls - Slide
a late april day and it's sunny outside
and a red little girl's at the top of a slide
and an an orange old man at the bottom
wants to take her for a ride
as she slips and she tumbles the orange man mumbles
pennies crash down from the sky
and he tells her he'll take her away where it's safe
and of course it is a lie
[...]
her smile is wide and her legs are spread wider
her hair growing long and her hips getting larger
past getting brighter
light growing weaker...
[...]
her eyes are now closing her sleeves are unrolling
up past her head and her veins are all showing
not that she noticed she's thoroughly focused on
one old man who's laughing...
who's laughing...
[...]
the orangeman got you...

Damien Rice - Baby Sister
Don't wake up, baby sister, keep dreaming
Did he fill your cup? Baby sister, keep drinking
Or he'll hit you
He'll bleach your eyes
So be a good girl
Just for the night
And run, run...

*shiver*

Nick Cave & Kylie Minougue - Where the Wild Roses Grow
On the third day he took me to the river
He showed me the roses and we kissed
And the last thing I heard was a muttered word
As he stood smiling above me with a rock in his fist

On the last day I took her where the wild roses grow
And she lay on the bank, the wind light as a thief
As I kissed her goodbye, I said, 'All beauty must die'
And lent down and planted a rose between her teeth

Lied vom Debütalbum "Songs in a minor".

@Die besten/schönsten "Monster"-Songs

Michael Jackson - Earth Song
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms

Gute Wahl übrigens!

Bei Michael Jackson fällt mir noch "Who Is It" ein.
Guns'n'Roses - "November Rain"
"Riders on the Storm" von The Doors.
